Training
Olton Mere Sailing Club is an RYA Recognised Training Centre (RTC) offering training to a recognised standard. To assist potential new sailors and for training, the club has a variety of boats available.
COURSES
We offer combined RYA Level 1/2 courses over four full days. Depending upon instructor and participant availability these can be arranged for consecutive days or over several weekends. The course is designed to turn complete beginners into competent sailors. If you are interested in booking a course please use the contact page to send your details.
As a member of the club you are also encouraged to take First Aid and Powerboat Level 2 qualifications.
TASTER SESSIONS
Discover sailing with one of our taster sessions.
We have a number of single and double-handed access dinghies, designed to prevent capsize, that you can sail on your own with support from instructors in a powerboat.
IMPROVER SESSIONS
When you pass a L1/2 course you will need to develop your skills. We provide improver sessions these run on alternate Sunday from 10 -12am during the training season (April-October). These are for beginners, intermediate, advanced and youth sailors.
SAILABILITY
Sailability is the RYA's national programme enabling people with disabilities to try sailing and take part regularly. Our club boats include single-handed and double-handed Hansa dinghies. If you are interested in booking a session please use the contact page to send your details.
